which are beneficial to women. Be it about dresses, make up, shoes, or even our
health. My advice for all ladies out there, why dun u just sit in front of tv
for about an hour per day just to get these beneficial info about ourselves?
For those who dunno
about this tv show, here is the schedule: Mon – Thurs : 11:00 am-12:00 pm n on Sun
: 1:30 pm-2:30 pm. Only on NTV7, your feel good channel!! ^_^
Ok enough, let’s
move to our topic of the day~ High heels……….!!!
"Most women have them, those adorable, had-to-buy-them, high heel shoes hiding in our closet. In fact, many of us have lots of pairs!"
For some ladies, high heels are torture devices made for
women n that’s why they called them “high hells”. However, for some other
ladies, like me myself, these high heels make ourselves look good. Plus, we
also like the way they make us feel tall, in charge, and yes, sexy!
But bear in mind, not all beautiful things are good for us. N
these high heels are not excluded. It myb suitable to be wore when there is no need
for us to walk for a long period of time eg. for functions like dinner or
wedding. But please dun wear it to go for a shopping. U will end up having a
bad foot pain..!
Here u go~
5 Tips to
Protect Your Feet When Wearing High Heels
1.
Get the
best-fitting high heel possible.
Let’s stop n think: How many pairs of high heels cause your feet to slide to the front, leaving a gap big
enough for a small cell phone behind your heel? High heels that dun fit
properly will cause the front of the foot to fly forward, creating more
pressure and pain on toes. So look for narrow heels with a snug but not tight
fit to correct the problem!
2.
Cushion,
cushion, cushion.
While a full-shoe insert can help, if you have pain in the ball of the
foot or you'll be standing in your heels a long time, invest in silicone
metatarsal pads. They look like flattened gummy bears, but they do a super job
of shock absorption.
3.
Wear a
thicker heel for stability.
A thicker heel will give you better balance and may help relieve some
pressure by distributing the weight on your foot more evenly. Alternating
heel heights can also help reduce problems with the Achilles tendon.
4.
Pay
attention to the "slope" or "pitch" of the heel.
While some 4-inch heels will give you a straight drop down to the flatbed
portion of the shoe, others will be a more gradual slope. This may be easier on
the arch and might help relieve some pain in the ball of the foot.
5.
Wear
open-toe high heels to relieve pressure on corns and calluses.
See a podiatrist to have corns and calluses professionally removed and
correct the problem that’s causing them. But if that's not possible, opt for
open-toe shoes to take pressure off inflamed areas.
If it’s too late n your foot is already in pain, then opt
for these~
5 Products That Will Prevent High-Heel Pain
1. Antiperspirant Spray
Even if your soles don't sweat much, just a little bit of
moisture in the air can cause the leather straps of your sandals to chafe your
skin, resulting in painful blisters. Mist your feet with deodorant—like Secret
Spring Breeze Anti-perspirant Aerosol to keep them dry and happy.
2. Blister Blocks
Band-Aid Blister Block is tiny enough for your purse (it's
about the size of dental floss) and lets you target specific areas on your feet
where you're prone to get blisters. But it's only a preventative product...if
you've already got a nasty blister, try a "second-skin" product, like
Spenco's 2nd Skin Blister Kit.
3. Gel Inserts
Not only do gel inserts feel really good in your
shoes, they let you wear them way longer before your feet start aching. And
while Dr. Scholl's might sound like something your dad would buy, they've got
their super comfy new product, Massaging Gel: Outrageous Comfort Dual Gel
Insoles for Women In-soles.
4. Foot Cushions
If you aren't the "gellin' like a
felon" kind of girl, foot cushions are a stylish alternative. Whether
they're for your tip toes, your entire in-sole, or your heels, they look like
they're actually part of the inside of the shoe. For examples, Dr. Scholl's n Foot Petals.
5. Foldable Ballet Flats
These cute kicks are small enough to fit in your clutch,
making the walk home after work or a night out way less torturous. They weigh
just five ounces, have durable soles, and come with a bag that expands to carry
your high heels. Score yourself a pair at Bliss Spa or online.
Other alternative?
Even if you try one or more of the above, but your
busy schedule might mean your tootsies are still tired after a long week, try
this energizing citrus soak once every 5-7 days: Submerge your feet in a bowl
of two cups orange, grapefruit, or lemon juice (or a combo) and two cups warm
water. After 5 minutes, the citric acid will have softened up the dead skin.
Slough your heels and the balls of your feet with a pumice stone, and then
massage your entire foot with an oil-based sugar scrub. Rinse it off, and slather
on a body or foot balm. Ahhh... what a relief..!!! :)
Ok till then ladies,
wassalam~
